Littler, 17, won the nail-biting final 8-7 as he became only the third player to in on their debut behind Phil Taylor and Wayne Mardle.

He celebrated the win by taking to social media and sharing a hilariously photoshopped picture.

The snap had Littler’s face super-imposed over a man sitting in a hot tub.

It was safe to say that not all of his followers got the joke as they flooded the comment section.

One fan posted: “Nah you’re tooooo funnyyy (I don’t get it)”

A second commented: “I’m living under a rock I don’t get it.”

A third wrote: “No really what’s this about?”

A fourth said: “Context?”

A fifth added: “This is confusing.”

The original picture was an image from darts legend Steve Beaton’s interview in 1993.

Beaton was speaking to BBC‘s Dougie Donnelley while sitting in a hot tub at the Lakeside County Club.

He announced that he would be retiring from the sport in December and that 2024 would be his last year in the professional game.

During Littler’s run to the final, he had differing levels of luck in his matches.

He completed a nine-dart finish in the round of 32 to win against Michele Turetta.

However, in the semi-final, he was blasted as “petulant” for his reaction to a missing shot.
