Lewandowski Beats Messi, Salah To Best Player At FIFA Football Awards

Bayern Munich and Poland striker, Robert Lewandowski, was on Monday named the FIFA Best Men’s Player of 2021.

Naija News reports that the award ceremony was held in Zurich, Switzerland.

Lewandowski, who scored his 300th goal for Bayern over the weekend, beat Paris Saint-Germain’s Lionel Messi and Liverpool winger, Mohamed Salah, to the prestigious award.

2021 was arguably the best year of Roberts career, with the former Dortmund strike bagging four trophies.

The Poland international, however, finished second position behind Messi in the 2021 Ballon d’ Or.

Chelsea’s Thomas Tuchel and Mendy were named best male coach and goalkeeper respectively.

Denmark and Finland fans went home with The Best Fan award for 2021 for their support of Christian Eriksen.

Alexia Putellas was named The Best Women’s player.
