Leicester incredibly face another season in Championship after blowing 17-POINT lead as Leeds overtake Foxes in table

The Foxes’ latest setback in the Championship has led to an unbelievable slip in form.

Leicester have now blown a 17-point lead and could find themselves in the play-offsRex

Enzo Maresca’s men topped the table with a comfortable 17-point lead ahead of second place and Leeds only 12 gameweeks ago.

But after losing four of their last six league matches, of which they have won just one, Leicester have been pipped by the Whites.

Daniel Farke’s men lead the way on goal difference, while third-placed Ipswich are only one point away from both teams.

That means Leicester could also find themselves in the play-offs after blowing up their slender lead and therefore may miss out on automatic promotion.

Bristol City’s Anis Mehmeti scored the only goal of the game 17 minutes from time with a left-footed shot into the roof of Mads Hermansen’s net.

Jamie Vardy came closest to scoring for the Foxes but was twice denied by excellent saves from Max O’Leary.

Leicester are now set to lock horns with fellow promotion chasers Norwich on Monday at the King Power Stadium.

The Canaries are sixth in the Championship table, which means they can find themselves in the play-offs.

Leeds, on the other hand, travel to Watford on Friday night and could extend their lead.

And finally Ipswich visit Blackburn Rovers, which means they could pip both rivals by the end of Good Friday.

Southampton and West Brom are the other two teams currently occupying the play-off spots.
