Sokoto Senator Dumps PDP For APC

Nigeria’s main opposition, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has lost a member to the ruling All Progressive Congress (PDP) in Sokoto State.

The Senator representing Sokoto South Senatorial District, Senator Ibrahim Danbaba, announced on Wednesday (today) that he is no longer a member of the umbrella party.

Stating his reason for dumping the opposition, the politician said he left the PDP because of the lingering crisis in the Sokoto State chapter of the party.

There are indications that some top stakeholders in the All Progressives Congress on Tuesday night sold Goodluck Jonathan candidacy to President Muhammadu Buhari.

It was gathered that the stakeholders which include governors sold the idea of the former president serving for a term in office and handing over to his Deputy.

According to Vanguard, sources claimed that the stakeholders plan to pick Jonathan’s running mate from North-East.

2023: Another Buhari’s Minister Joins Presidential Race, Obtains APC Nomination Form

The Minister of State for Education, Chukwuemeka Nwajiuba has officially joined the 2023 presidential race.

The minister will be contesting for the 2023 presidency under the platform of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

Nwajiuba showed his intention to become the next president by obtaining his Nomination and Expression of Interest forms valued at N100m on Wednesday at the APC National Secretariat, Abuja.

APC New Guildline: Amaechi, Ngige Get 72 Hours Ultimatum To Resign Or Forget Presidential Ambition

All political appointees who have the intention to contest in the primary elections of the All Progressives Congress have been directed by the party in its new guideline to resign.

The political appointees who aspire to contest were asked to resign at least 30 days before the conduct of the primaries.

With the new guideline of the ruling party in place, the likes of the Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi and the Labour Minister, Chris Ngige who has presidential ambition has three days to resign or forget their 2023 ambition.

2023 Presidency: PDP Speaks On Zoning, Reveals How Its Candidate Will Be Selected

The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has said members who have bought the presidential nomination and expression of interest forms across the geopolitical zones are free to contest its presidential primaries.

Mr. Debo Ologunagba, the National Publicity Secretary of the PDP, made this known amid speculations that the National Executive Committee of the party could meet on Wednesday next week, and would take a decision on the party’s Zoning Committee report.

Angry Youths Chase Ondo Lawmaker Out Of Hometown [Video]

Some angry youths in Owo, Ondo State, on Tuesday, chased out the majority leader of the state House of Assembly, Oluwole Ogunmolasuyi, popularly known as ‘West’, from the town.

Naija News learned that the youths, numbering up to fifty, chased the lawmaker and his entourage out of Iloro community over alleged poor performance and imposition.

It was gathered that Ogunmolasuyi, who represents Owo Constituency 1, was harassed during a meeting with some leaders of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the community.

2023 presidential aspirant and political economist, Professor Kingsley Moghalu has opened up on his stand on the controversial issue of zoning in Nigeria.

Naija News reports the former Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) in a series of tweets on Wednesday argued that zoning promotes inclusion in a multi-faceted country like Nigeria.
