2023: After Losing APC Presidential Ticket, Amaechi Tells Supporters Who To Vote For

Former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi has appealed to his supporters not to be angry but cast their votes for the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2023 elections.

Speaking on Saturday in Port Harcourt, Amaechi told his supporters not to be discouraged by the outcome of the APC presidential primaries but to go all out and ensure the party emerges victorious at the polls.

Naija News reports Amaechi emerged second during the primaries in Abuja, losing out to former Lagos State Governor, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.

However, addressing thousands of his supporters who came to welcome him and followed him from the Port Harcourt International Airport, Omagwa, to the APC state secretariat in Port Harcourt, Amaechi said no matter their feelings about the outcome of the primaries, APC is the party they must vote for.

Tinubu Dumps El-Rufai, Ganduje, Pencils Zulum, Shettima As Running Mate

The presidential candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) for the 2023 election, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has reportedly rejected the chance to pick either Governor Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna State or Governor Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano State as his running mate.
Tinubu, a former Lagos State Governor, has reportedly zeroed his search on Governor Babagana Zulum of Borno State or his predecessor, Senator Kashim Shettima.

It was gathered that Tinubu would return from France and announce his running mate before the July 15 deadline set by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

The APC presidential candidate, who had limited his search to Borno, Kano, and Kaduna states, with all the prospective running mates being Muslims, dropped Nasir El-Rufai despite the active role in Tinubu’s emergence.

An ally of Tinubu told The PUNCH that the former governor is expected to consult on who he should pick between Zulum and Shettima when he returns from France.

Atiku’s Aide Speaks On Gov Wike Shunning His Delegate In Turkey

Paul Ibe, the media aide to the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar has debunked the report that his principal sent an emissary to meet Governor Nyesom Wike in Turkey.

There had been reports that the Rivers State Governor shunned the emissary, a former Minister of Police Affairs, Adamu Waziri sent by Atiku.

A further report had it that Waziri met with Wike in Turkey to plead with him to support the presidential ambition of Atiku, which he reportedly ignored.

Wike has remained silent on the running of the party after being snubbed by Atiku who picked the Governor of Delta State, Ifeanyi Okowa as his running mate.

Ibe is reaction assured that issues with Wike and other aggrieved leaders will be amicably resolved.

Why Wike, Ortom, Makinde, Others Didn’t Attend Osun Campaign Council Inauguration – PDP

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has revealed the reason behind the absence of about 11 of its governors at the inauguration of the Osun State Governorship Election Campaign Council on Wednesday in Abuja.
Naija News had reported most of the PDP governors were absent at the inauguration.

The governors who were not at the event include Governors Nyesom Wike (Rivers), Seyi Makinde (Oyo), Amina Tambuwal (Sokoto), and Samuel Ortom (Benue), and Godwin Obaseki (Edo), among others.

The PDP National Publicity Secretary, Debo Ologunagba, revealed that many of the governors were outside the country and could not make it to the event.

He faulted reports that the governors boycotted the inauguration, adding they sent their apologies for not attending the event.

APC Has Become Haven Of Vendetta And Injustice – Ondo Senatorial Aspirant Dumps Party

An aspirant of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in the last senatorial primary elections in Ondo State, Tola Awosika has dumped the party.

In his resignation letter to the Chairman of the party in ward 11, in the Ondo West council area of the state, Awosika said APC has become a haven of vendetta and injustice.

According to Awosika, he joined the party because of his passion to see a better society where both young and old are living peacefully with unfettered access to necessities and not desperation to contest or attain a position.

Awosika who seemed aggrieved with the outcome of the party’s senatorial primary election faulted the leadership of APC over injustice.

2023: Picture Of Zulum And Tinubu Sparks Rumour Of His Emergence As Presidential Running Mate

A viral image of the Borno State Governor, Babagana Zulum and the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Bola Tinubu has sparked rumours about Zulum emerging as the 2023 vice presidential candidate of the ruling party.

In the picture trending on the internet and across social media platforms, Tinubu is seen raising the hands of Zulum.

Some political and social media groups have even started celebrating the emergence of Zulum as the running mate of Tinubu.

However, information available to Naija News has it that Tinubu has not picked Zulum but is considering him as one of the options.

The Presidential candidate of the Action Alliance (AA), Major Hamza Al-Mustapha (retd), says he wants to become the next President in 2023 to reposition the country.
The Security Head of late General Sani Abacha, Major Hamza Al-Mustapha (retd) asserted that various indices show that the country is moving down the spiral since the Muhammadu Buhari government came into power in 2015.

Al-Mustapha claimed that his passion and love for Nigeria is the reason he is again running for the position of president come 2023 after various calls by Nigerians.

He stated this on Friday when he appeared as a guest on Channels Television’s Politics Today.

Al-Mustapha, however, said that he didn’t enter the presidential race for financial gains as some would think.

2023: I Am Not Against Muslim/Muslim Ticket – Omokri

Former presidential aide, Reno Omokri on Saturday stated that there is nothing wrong with the Muslim-Muslim presidential ticket.

There have been speculations that the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Bola Tinubu may pick a Muslim as his running mate ahead of the 2023 general elections.

The political activist said if the Muslim-Muslim ticket is credible people he does not have an issue with it.

Omokri further stated that he is not against the ruling party’s plan to field the ticket.

He, however, said the former Governor of Lagos State is not credible, adding that we should focus on credibility and not religiosity.
