2023 Presidency: Massive Peter Obi National Structure And Those Behind It Unveiled

Claims that the presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Peter Obi does not have a structure ahead of the 2023 elections have been debunked.

Speaking against the backdrop of submissions by critics that Obi only has social media presence but lacks any political structure in the real world, the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has stated that workers across the nation will form the needed structure for Peter Obi.

The NLC General Secretary, Mr. Emma Ugboaja made the submission over the weekend when he reiterated that the organised labour has unanimously agreed to vote for the Labour Party and its presidential candidate in the 2023 election.

Ugboaja reiterated the stand over the weekend in a chat with ThisDay, noting that the Labour Party was initially set up to operate on the ideals of defending the workers and the time has come for it to fulfil its mandate.

He said Nigerian workers have considered all the aspirants and unanimously come to a conclusion to support Obi in the 2023 presidential election.

Speaking further, the NLC official said gone were those days when the Labour party operated without involving the labour movement.

Ugboaja pointed out that this time around, the two labour centres in the country are fully behind the Labour Party and its presidential candidate.

Lady Emana would be PDP’s first female to deputize the male gender in thirty years in the state if they emerge victorious.

Emana was before now a former Channels TV broadcaster. It could be recalled that last week, youths from Akpabuyo, Bakassi, and Calabar South LG councils stormed the party secretariat, protesting the choice of Emana because she was relatively unknown in the political arrangements in the state.

The presidential candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Rabiu Kwankwaso, has suggested that some northern politicians are pretending to be in support of the southern presidency but working for the northern president to emerge in 2023.

This is as he alleged that a particular northern politician is pretending to be supporting Peter Obi, the presidential candidate on the platform of the Labour Party in order to ruin NNPP’s chances in the 2023 election.

Kwankwaso made the claim during an interview on Channels TV’s ‘Sunday Politics’

According to the NNPP presidential flag bearer, a competent source within the ranks of the Labour Party informed him that Obi is discussing with a leader of the PDP and Atiku’s crony, whose objective is allegedly to dissuade Obi from entering into an alliance with him in order to weaken NNPP’s chances at the 2023 polls.

2023: Why Kwankwaso Should Agree To Be Obi’s Running Mate – Labour Party

The National Chairman of Labour Party (LP), Julius Abure, has disclosed why the presidential candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Rabiu Kwankwaso, should agree to be the running mate to Peter Obi.

Naija News earlier reported that Kwankwaso had said that the LP does not stand the chance to win the 2023 presidential election because it does not have a mass appeal and nationwide structure.

The former Governor of Kano State claimed that the party only enjoys support from the South East, which is one out of the six geopolitical zones in the country.

Kwankwaso stated that votes cast by the people of the South East for the LP candidate, Peter Obi, would not be enough to make him the next President. He added that the constitution states that a candidate needs an overall majority and at least 25% of the votes in two-thirds of the states.

Reacting in an interview with The Punch, the LP national chairman advised Kwankwaso to accept to be Obi’s running mate in his own interest, adding that the former Kano Governor cannot win the 2023 presidential election.

Atiku’s Running Mate: PDP Leaders Make Move To Stop Plans To Remove Ayu As Party Chairman

Reports indicating that some leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) are making moves to stop the plans of some aggrieved members of the party who intend to remove the party’s national chairman, Senator Iyorchia Ayu, from office ahead of the 2023 general elections have emerged.

A source informed Daily independent that the plan to remove Ayu is being led by Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike.

There have been speculations that the selection of Delta State Governor Ifeanyi Okowa as Atiku Abubakar’s running mate despite Wike’s emergence as the candidate of a 17-member advisory committee has led to a distinct division among the Governors in the party.

This was further brought to the fore when only two out of the 13 Governors of the party were present at the inauguration of the party’s campaign council for the Osun State governorship election, though the party later clarified they sent in apologies about their absence ahead of the programme.

Shedding more light on the alleged ongoing rift in the party, the source told the publication that the aggrieved members are insisting that the party’s presidential candidate and the national chairman cannot come from the same region.
