Former Kaduna Central lawmaker, Senator Shehu Sani has appealed to former President Goodluck Jonathan not to allow himself to be used and dumped.
The former lawmaker spoke against the backdrop of unfolding events and possible consequences regarding the 2023 presidential election with insinuations that Jonathan is under pressure to join the race.

There have been several reports that some stakeholders within the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) are bent on having Jonathan as the party’s 2023 presidential candidate so the north can return to power after four years.

Tension As APC National Chairman, Adamu Suspends Party Directors

The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Abdullahi Adamu, has indefinitely suspended all departmental directors at the party headquarters in Abuja.

Naija News understands that the APC chairman ordered the directors to proceed on an indefinite suspension in a letter last week Friday.

Recall that the former Nasarawa governor had on assumption of office on April 1 hinted at the possibility of reorganizing the national secretariat.

The Governor of Bauchi State, Bala Mohammed, says it is only former President Goodluck Jonathan that can make him step down from the 2023 presidential race.

Naija News reports that Mohammed made this known on Channels Television on Sunday while reacting to speculations that Jonathan may join the presidential race.

According to the presidential aspirant, he remains loyal to the former president for giving him the opportunity to serve as the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) in 2010.

The Spokesperson of the Northern Elders Forum (NEF), Hakeem Baba-Ahmed has faulted viral reports claiming the group endorsed former Senate President Bukola Saraki and Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed as consensus presidential aspirants of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) from the North.

Naija News had reported earlier that NEF Chairman, Ango Abdullahi, confirmed in Minna, Niger State capital on Friday, the emergence of Mohammed and Saraki as northern consensus presidential aspirants of the PDP.

The declaration has since generated mixed reactions by candidates from the region and party stakeholders.

Imo House Of Reps Member, Ugonna Ozurigbo Dumps APC For PDP

The lawmaker representing Nkwerre/ Nwangele/Isu/Njaba Federal Constituency of Imo State in the House of Representatives, Ugonna Ozurigbo has defected from the All Progressives Congress (APC) to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

The defection was confirmed in a statement on Sunday by the lawmaker’s media aide, Philip Dike.

According to the statement, Ozurigbo announced his defection during a political meeting on Saturday at his Umuozu ward in Nwangele Local Government Area of Imo State.

Former Kogi Central Senator, Dino Melaye has advised Nigerians against making unnecessary enemies and willful incivility ahead of the 2023 general elections.

In a tweet via his Twitter page on Monday, Melaye also urged supporters and members of all the political parties in the country to eschew bitterness and violence.

The People Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain added that decorum and issue-based campaign should be the goal of the presidential aspirants and their supporters.
