Kano Lawmaker Rushes Back To APC Few Days After Joining NNPP

The lawmaker representing Bagwai/Shanono Constituency in the House of Assembly, Ali Ibrahim Isah Shanono, has returned to the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC).

Naija News understands that the lawmaker had recently defected to the New Nigeria People Party (NNPP).

He has, however, fled back to APC just a few days of his stay in the fast-growing party.

Just like Governor Abdullahi Ganduje had stated earlier while reacting to former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi’s call for support for his presidential bid, Naija News observed that the political atmosphere in Kano State is currently swinging.

There have been a series of defections from one political party to the other in the state.

Recently, about 14 House of Assembly members in Kano reportedly defected to the NNPP from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and the APC.

Among the defectors is Shanono, a member of APC who defected to the NNPP.

The lawmaker, however, in a letter he sent to the house on Thursday, confirmed to members that he has deactivated his membership of NNPP and rejoined APC.

Hon Isah Shanono pledged to work round the clock for the success of the APC party at the forthcoming polls.

Among political big wigs in Kano who have changed their party ahead of the 2023 elections, Senator Ibrahim Shekarau recently dumped APC for the NNPP.

Many aggrieved APC chieftains have also joined the fast-growing party, Naija News understands.
