However the Old Lady have now switched their attention to fellow Man Utd loanee Sancho.

United’s £40million asking price for Sancho is likely to be beyond the Italian giants this summer.

But it doesn’t mean the deal is completely off the cards as they may seek a loan with an option to buy.

Borussia Dortmund, where Sancho returned on loan in January, remain keen but coach Edin Terzic’s exit has put the move in doubt.

Dortmund announced last week that former Liverpool midfielder Nuri Sahin, 35, would be their new manager.

Juve’s swoop for Greenwood is on hold after opposition from fans.

He was suspended by United amid allegations about his private life and loaned to Getafe despite charges being dropped.

Reports have suggested Napoli have “made contact” with United for his signature.

While on loan with Getafe he managed eight goals and three assists in 33 La Liga appearances.

His efforts for the Spanish club saw him named as Getafe’s Player of the Season.

Sancho on the other hand racked up two goals and three assists in 12 Bundesliga appearances for Dortmund having joined the club on loan in January.
