Just In: Plane Carrying 62 Passengers Crashes In Brazil
A plane conveying sixty-two passengers has crashed in the city of Vinhedo in Brazil’s São Paulo state.
An ATR-72 aircraft, operated by Voepass Linhas Aéreas, was en route from Cascavel, in the state of Paraná, to Guarulhos in São Paulo when the crash occurred, according to a report by the local news outlet G1.
Video shared on social media appeared to show the plane plunging to the ground in a nosedive, disappearing behind a cluster of trees before a large plume of black smoke erupted into the air.
Brazil’s TV GloboNews showed other footage that showed a large area on fire, and smoke coming out of what appeared to be the wrecked fuselage of a plane.
The ATR-72 plane operated by airline Voepass Linhas Areas was en route from Cascavel, in the state of Parana, to Guarulhos, in Sao Paulo, website G1 said, citing Voepass.
