Jonny Evans denied fairytale second debut goal after free transfer as Man Utd fans fume at Rasmus Hojlund

JONNY EVANS was denied a dream goal on his second full debut for Manchester United.

And many fans blamed new £72million striker Rasmus Hojlund after the free-transfer defender saw his opener at Burnley ruled out for offside.

Evans, 35, was making his first start and 200th United appearance in all following his shock re-signing late in the January transfer window.

And in the 24th minute he rose well to nod in Sergio Reguilon’s corner.

But Hojlund was standing right in front of Clarets’ keeper James Trafford.

And Evans’ big moment was erased after video replays made it clear the 20-year-old Dane was clearly in Trafford’s way.

One fan blasted: “Hojlund can’t stay onside let alone score goals.”
