John Fury vs Carl Froch tale of the tape: How the boxers compare ahead of ‘huge Wembley fight’ after war of words
CARL FROCH has been embroiled in a bizarre war of words with John Fury – leading to speculative talks of a fight at Wembley.
Froch has been outspoken ever since his retirement in 2014 and has been quick to criticise John’s son Tyson.
John furiously defended his boy and called to fight Froch in the same place where the younger man so famously knocked out George Groves in front of 80,000.
He said: “You and me, Wembley Stadium, 93,000 crowd. I’m up for that my friend.”
Froch was quick to hit back and instead suggested they should settle the score in the name of charity.
He said: “If any kind of fight was gonna materialise for me and you, it wouldn’t be for financial gain. I’m sorry to burst your bubble.
“There’s no money to be had. If this stupidity becomes real because of the Misfits scene, I’d be doing it for charity.”
Froch retired in 2014 following his KO over Groves and did so as a two-time world champion.
He stands 6ft 1in tall with a reach of 75in and was renowned for his relentless style and iron chin.
Froch won 33 of his 35 fights, losing only to American great Andre Ward and Mikkel Kessler, a result he avenged in a rematch.

The British legend – who left the sport with 24 knockouts – bowed out in legendary style be KOing rival Groves at Wembley.
Has has teased a return in the past, most notably to fight YouTuber-turned boxer Jake Paul.
And Froch even revealed he was weighing as much as 14 STONE in retirement, up two stone from his fighting weight.
John on the other hand is most notable for fathering and coaching sons Tyson and Tommy.
But he did have a professional boxing career, fighting 13 times with eight wins, four losses and a draw.
And John claims to have been a fierce bare-knuckle boxer during his heyday.
His last official fight was in 1995, losing on points to Steve Garber.
John stands slightly taller than Froch at 6ft 3in and formerly fought at heavyweight.
But not much is known on his exact weight now – at 59 – or details on his reach.
John has been quick to challenge superstar names like Mike Tyson, Evander Holyfield and Lennox Lewis.
And he is even ready to fight Tyson’s old sparring partner Joe Egan, so long as the price is right.
