ABINGWORTH (3.40 Hereford, nap)
He went close at Huntingdon before landing a game win at Taunton in November. He saw out a similar trip to this there and was unlucky not to follow up at Ludlow last time.
He travelled strongly and looked to have the race in the bag only to be collared right on the lollipop. This race looks a little easier and the handicapper has been fair with a 3lb rise in the weights.
KEL DU LARGE (2.40 Hereford, nb)
He has won both his bumpers without breaking too much sweat. He kicked off with a cruise around Exeter before an impressive effort at Cheltenham last time out. He looks one to follow over hurdles and can score jumping obstacles for the first time.
MISTER BARCLAY (4.40 Hereford, treble)
He loves to see the heavens open and has run well on his past two starts at Wetherby while the mud’s been flying. He looked beaten a long way from home at the Yorkshire track last time before finding his second wind and coming home strongly. That staying power will be an asset in the conditions as he goes up in distance.
