Gunmen Assassinate Ogun Chief, Wife In Lagos

The Lagos State Police have begun an investigation into the assassination of Ogun State Chief, Femi Egbeoluwa and his wife in the Allen Avenue area of the state.

Naija News learnt that the couple was reportedly killed by the unknown gunmen, who gained entrance into their home at 1 Adefolu drive, Allen Avenue, in the early hours of Saturday, March 18, 2023.

Egbeoluwa, a former Permanent Secretary of the defunct Bureau of Transportation during the Otunba Gbenga Daniel led- administration in Ogun State, and his wife were left in a pool of blood.

A police source, while speaking with the Nigerian Tribune on the condition of anonymity, said the deceased is a chief from Ilaro in Ogun State.

He added: “We got the report on Saturday. The man and his wife were assassinated, while their house was also injured.”

The Lagos State Police spokesman, Benjamin Hundeyin, also confirmed the incident, stating that an investigation is ongoing.

According to him, the deceased’s househelp was found unconscious during a visit to the scene and she is responding to treatment at the hospital.

The Police spokesman added that no suspect had been arrested in connection with the incident.

Hundeyin said, ”Investigation is ongoing. Policemen have visited the scene. The house help was found unconscious but she is responding to treatment now in the hospital.

“The case has been transferred to the homicide section of the state Criminal Investigation Department, Panti, Yaba. SCID, Panti. No suspect yet.”
