GOVERNOR UMAHI SWEARS IN NEW JUDGES, COMMISSIONER, COORDINATORS, TASKS THEM ON PERFORMANCE

The Governor of Ebonyi State, Engr. David Umahi has sworn in two new Judges to join the ranks of Judges in Ebonyi State judiciary.

They are Mr. Nicholas Nwofe and Mr Emmanuel Ogbunnefi.

Also sworn in was Pastor Eze Nwachukwu Eze as a Commissioner while Pastor Vincent Awoke and Mr Joseph Nwonumaru were inaugurated as members of Civil Service Commissioner and Revenue Appeal Commission respectively.

Also sworn in were Ernest Okorie, Toochukwu Uzo. Ugochi Ovoke, Ibiam Inya, Ogbonnia Anya, Uchechukwu Afudike, Donatus Umeh, Esther Agwu, Joseph Onwe, Ejikeme Agbo and Stephen Ogenyi as Coordinators of Development Centre.

Addressing the new appointees, Governor Umahi congratulated them on their successful swearing-in and urged them to uphold their oath of office in the discharge of their duties.

Governor Umahi while calling on Coordinators of Development Centre to move the fight against cultism to their domain also told them that they would be held liable for any breach of peace in their localities.

He enjoined all the appointees to fear God and desist from betrayal of trust.

“When you are working with a Government and you betray that Government for someone else, it may sound sweet, but just know that in the fullness of time, you will have no regard before them. You have to work for God, the people and Government”

Earlier, the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice Mr Cletus Ofoke stated that the appointments met requisite legal provisions and we’re desired to address the shortfall in needy sectors of the State.

On behalf of the appointees, a Judge, Mr Nicholas Nwode thanked the Governor for finding them worthy to serve and pledged to justify the confidence.
