Governor Obiano Commiserates With Late Col. Nwobosi Family

Anambra State Governor, Chief Willie Obiano has commiserated with the family of late Col. Emmanuel Nwobosi, a former Captain in the Nigerian Army, Colonel in the Biafran Army as well as Chief of Staff to late General Emeka Ojukwu.

Speaking at his Country home in Obosi, Idemili North local government area, Governor Obiano who described him as a legend during his lifetime said that he worked closely with him, especially during the Ozoemezina mass burial for Nigeria/Biafra war victims held at Dr. Alex Ekwueme Square.

Late Col. Nwobosi who died this morning at 81, participated in the January 15, 1966 coup de etat, the first such in Nigeria.

He led soldiers in different battles in defence of the young Republic of Biafra.

Commissioner for Health, Dr. Vincent Okpala, Special Adviser to the Governor on Diaspora Affairs, Mr. Tony Muonagor, among others, accompanied the Governor, while his family members and kinsmen recieved them.
