Gov Ayade Fires Two Special Advisers After Gubernatorial Election

Governor Ben Ayade of Cross River State has sacked two special advisers for undisclosed reasons.

This was made known on Monday by the chief press secretary to the governor, Christian Ita.

The two sacked special aides are Ayade’s special adviser on politics in the office of the chief of staff, Peter Okaba and Tony Adah who was special adviser to the governor on project monitoring.

Adah is to be replaced immediately by Godwin Orim, while the adviser on politics is to be replaced by Romanus Abua with immediate effect.

Ita told Leadership that the governor was the employer of the two Special Advisers and has reasons to fire any one of need be.

This is coming days after the Cross River gubernatorial election.

Recall that Ayade’s favoured successor and the candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Bassey Otu, was declared the winner of Cross River state governorship election.

APC’s Bassey Otu was declared winner of the election by the Returning Officer for Cross River State, Prof Teddy Adias, at the Independent National Electoral Commission state headquarters in Calabar.
