Former Premier League star Craig Bellamy teased for ‘not believing in rainbows’ after bizarre interview
CRAIG BELLAMY has been teased by fans online after some peculiar comments he made about “believing in rainbows”.
The former Premier League ace was standing in on the touchline for Burnley manager for Vincent Kompany, who was serving a ban following his red card in the 2-2 draw at Chelsea in March.

Bellamy saw the Clarets go 1-0 ahead against Brighton on Saturday when goalkeeper Bart Verbruggen’s attempted clearance of a Carlos Baleda back pass deflected off a harassing Josh Brownhill.
However, five minutes later Arijanet Muric allowed the ball to squirm under his feet to gift the visitors an equaliser an Turf Moor.
The draw left Burnley six points adrift of safety with five games left to play.
But assistant manager Bellamy, 44, insisted the team could make a great escape, and used an analogy involving the beliefs of his three-year-old daughter to make his point.
The Welshman said: “I have a three-year-old girl who still believes in rainbows and unicorns.
“I honestly think we are going to get out of this situation. I believe we are going to stay up.
“Maybe I am naive or I am the one believing in rainbows and unicorns.”
Fans couldn’t help but tease Bellamy over the comments with a few jokes of their own.

Taking to social media, one fan said: “Wow – I didn’t even rainbow denier’s on my 2024 bingo card.”
A second said: “Have you ever held one? Didn’t think so.”
A third added: “RAINBOWS DON’T SCORE GOALS THOUGH, DO THEY? THIS ISN’T ATLANTIS”
Another said: “Looks like we’re staying up then!”
A fifth said: “Created by big colour to sell unicorns.”
On the performance, Bellamy said: “We were disappointed we weren’t leading in the first-half but to get ourselves in that position, of course you know it’s never over, especially in the Premier League.
“But we can completely understand the players being disappointed when they come in because we were in a winning position.

“We know how vital the points are at this present moment, we know the position we’re in, but can we recover and go again?”
Burnley face a crunch relegation six-pointer against bottom side Sheffield United on Saturday that is a must-win if they are to have any hope of staying in the top flight next season.
Bellamy added: “We’ll recover and then we’ll have a good look at Sheffield United.
“We’ll go through the plan, we’ll go through the week and the players will be fine because they’ve shown their strength of character throughout this.
“There are five games left and 15 points… It’s up to you to transfer that to the players and the manager and then we have 15 points left to play for.
“On we go to Sheffield United at Bramall Lane on Saturday.”
Bellamy starred for a number of clubs throughout his career, including for Newcastle, Cardiff, Norwich, Liverpool and Manchester City.
