But he has failed to make a run into Arsenal’s first-team squad and spent time out on loan with Portsmouth, Ibiza and Wigan.

And now, after just one senior appearance for his boyhood club, Azeez, 21, is trying to rejuvenate his career in Spain.

The playmaker hopes a run of regular football could help him hit the heights.

Azeez’s contract was also due to expire in the summer.

Arsenal back-up keeper Alex Runarsson has left the club by mutual consent.

The Icelandic shot-stopper, 28, recently saw his season-long loan spell with Cardiff ended early having made just seven appearances in all competitions.

And on his return to North London, the Gunners have decided to let Runarsson go with just six months left on his deal.

The keeper signed from French outfit Dijon in 2020.
