In a very unusual situation, a snake appeared on the field during the seventh-tier game forcing the players to stop the game.

The snake entered the pitch and referee Aleksandar Gorcic remained calm.

And in a video that has now gone viral someone off the pitch came in and bizarrely tried to throw out the snake with their backpack.

But that did not work and the head ref then stopped the snake by stamping on it, picking it up and throwing it off the field.

And fans could only praise the Gorcic for his courageous act.

As one said: “This needs to be sent to uefa this referee deserves to referee the Champions League final.

Another then put: “Hats off to the courage of the referee.”

While another joked about the snake: “Who is the referee?”

After the match, the Gornje Sinkovce said Gorcic had been bitten twice by the reptile.

The club have also confirmed that the snake was not injured.

According to eyewitnesses, it is a non-poisonous snake, but it still stings, which is what the referee felt on his skin.
