Fayemi, Tambuwal Storm Edo Over 2023 Election, Meet Obaseki [Photos]

Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo State, on Friday, received the Chairman, Nigeria Governors Forum (NGF) and Ekiti State Governor, Dr. Kayode Fayemi.

Fayemi, a presidential aspirant of the All Progressive Congress (APC), was at the State capital, Benin City, to consult with leaders and delegates of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Naija News also learned that the Chairman of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Governors’ Forum and Sokoto State Governor, Aminu Tambuwal, who was in the State to get delegates of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to back his presidential ambition.

Fayemi, who hailed Obaseki for his development strides in Edo, said he is in the state to tap from the wealth of experience and expertise of the Edo State Governor.

He said, “Obaseki is a senior and active member of our forum as he served in various capacities in that forum and has been involved in a number of issues that have contributed to sustainable peace and development of this country.

“Nigeria is in transition, and in the cause to build a stronger democracy and prosperous nation, it behooves some of us to engage with critical stakeholders on that journey.”

“I am running for the president of this country on the platform of my party and in Edo State to see members and leaders of my party,” Fayemi noted.

THE NGF Chairman further said, “The challenges we face as a nation is not a partisan challenge but a serious challenge that should concentrate the minds of all patriots and one that calls for solutions to come from all angles.

“I am always in continuous conversation with Governor Obaseki because of his own expertise and experience on economic matters. Anytime you see us together, it’s about Nigeria. He is working hard for the interest of Edo people.”

On his part, Tambuwal said, “I will engage Nigerians in dialogue and we shall, as a government, present executive bills necessary for constitution amendment to accommodate all of those recommendations that are aimed at restructuring and promoting fiscal federalism of this country.

“It’s all about rebuilding trust and confidence amongst our people and believing in ourselves as Nigerians that we are all one wherever anybody chooses to live.”
