JUVENTUS put on a horrendous display away from home at Sassuolo – scoring a ‘comical’ own goal.
The Old Lady were unbeaten in Serie A going into the clash at the Mapei Stadium.
Federico Gatti plays a no look pass into his own net
Goalkeeper Wojciech Szczęsny could only look on as the ball hit the back of the net
But, Massimiliano Allegri’s men were humbled 4-2 in Reggio Emilia in a shock result.
To compound their misery, Federico Gatti put the ball in his own net with one of the worst bloopers you will see all season.
Without looking he attempted to pass the ball back to his keeper.
However, he was unaware ex-Arsenal stopper Wojciech Szczęsny wasn’t standing in his goal.
Without looking, Gatti stroked the ball into the empty net as his team-mates looked on in horror.
Online, fans were aghast at the own goal.
One wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter: “Federico Gatti with maybe the most comical own goal I’ve ever seen in my life. This is unbelievable. Unbelievable.”
A second posted: “HAHAHAGSHWHSGSH WHAT IS THAT FROM GATTI LOOOL JUVE ARE DRUNK.”
Things looked up for Juventus, when they equalised through a Mathias Vina own goal after 21 minutes.
However, Italy international Domenico Berardi gave the hosts a 2-1 lead, only for Federico Chiesa to cancel out that strike in the 78th minute.
Moments later, Italy forward Andrea Pinamonti fired the hosts into a 3-2 lead.
Then, deep into stoppage time, Gatti’s mistake made it four.
The defeat sees Juventus drop to fourth spot in Serie A.
