Everton chaos continues as Olivier Giroud rejects them AGAIN as they fail in last-gasp transfer bid for AC Milan striker

EVERTON’s transfer chaos continued after they were reportedly turned down by France international Olivier Giroud in a last-gasp attempt to land a striker.

The Toffees were keen to add players to their squad to boost new boss Sean Dyche‘s chances of keeping the Merseyside team up.

They’re currently sat 19th and level on points with Southampton, who sit bottom of the table.

A number of players were linked with late moves to Goodison Park.

Chelsea’s Conor Gallagher and Hakim Ziyech, Southampton’s Che Adams and Rennes ace Kamaldeen Sulemana were all in the news over potential transfers.

However, Everton were unsuccessful in landing any of their targets.

And former Arsenal and Chelsea striker Giroud, now playing for Italian champions AC Milan, is the latest name to join the list of Everton’s failed transfer targets.

According to Calciomercato, Everton offered the 36-year-old World Cup and Champions League winner just under £3million in wages until the end of the season.

Avoiding relegation would have also seen Giroud pocket just shy of £2m.

He would then earn a salary of £7.4m the next season IF Everton were still in the Premier League.

The player, however, wasted very little time in turning down Everton’s proposal.

Due to the player’s lack of interest in returning to England, the Toffees did not even open talks with Milan.

Giroud is committed to helping Milan achieve the highest possible finish this term.
