And according to ESPN, failure to reach Europe’s elite will see Ten Hag’s £9million-a-year wages slashed by 25 per cent.
It means starting next season with a revised £6.75m yearly salary but there remain questions over Ten Hag’s future.
As revealed by SunSport, the ex-Ajax boss appears to be heading for the Old Trafford exit after losing the faith of fans.

That is increasingly looking unlikely to have Ten Hag at the helm even if he enjoys a shock final win on May 25 against neighbours City.
Former Brighton and Chelsea manager Graham Potter is the leading contender to take the job in the summer.
England’s Gareth Southgate, Brighton’ Roberto De Zerbi, Brentford’s Thomas Frank and Wolves’ Gary O’Neil are other names linked.
