EPL: Mancini Speaks On Becoming Man United Permanent Manager

Italian professional football manager, Roberto Mancini has faulted claims that he has agreed terms with Manchester United to become their next permanent manager after Ralf Rangnick.

Naija News understands that the English Premier League club is currently in dire need of a permanent manager following Ole Gunnar Solksjaer’s departure.

Top club managers, including Mancini, have been linked with the Man United job.

Recall that the Red Devils brought in Rangnick as an interim coach and his spell at the Old Trafford dugout is just for six months.

Speaking, however, on the claims that he had agreed to manage the English club, Mancini told Gazzetta dello Sport that it was all false reports.

The 57-year-old tactics maintained that his only focus is on next year’s World Cup in Qatar. Mancini said: “A verbal agreement with a Premier League club? All false.

“My only goal is to get to the World Cup and be able to win it.”

It could be recalled that Mancini was with Manchester City in 2012, and the sportsman helped the club to their first English Premier League that year.

In another news, French international who plays as a forward for Arsenal, Alexandre Lacazette is reportedly exiting the English club next summer.

Former Gunners, Kevin Campbell revealed this on Monday during an interview with Football insider.

Naija News understands that Lacazette’s current deal with Arsenal will elapse next summer.

The Frenchman, however, has the opportunity to speak with foreign clubs from January 1 for a new exposure due to Mikel Arteta’s preference for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang as his top 9.

Lacazette’s playing time has been cut down by Arteta and the 30-year-old Frenchman is hopeful for a new challenge elsewhere.
