England vs France World Cup quarter-final stopped in FIRST MINUTE as Harry Maguire boots flat ball out of play

ENGLAND’S World Cup quarter-final against France had to be halted after a matter of moments… due to a flat ball.

Players almost immediately complained of a flat ball, causing officials to provide a new one with not even a minute played.

England centre-half Harry Maguire was the one to knock the ball out of play to request a new one.

The game resumed and the focus was back on the last eight match, with a place in the semis against Morocco awaiting the winner.

England are already dreaming of going all the way, having been beaten on penalties by Italy in last summer’s Euros final.

And boss Gareth Southgate has promised to reward his Three Lions if they go all the way – by showing off his dad dancing.

He said: “The biggest thing for me in the game is going to be our mentality.

“We’ll of course be tactically prepared. But on these nights you’ve got to have men that stand up and take on the challenge.

“That’s the bit we’ve got to prove to people. We’ve had some outstanding nights and the next game is always the most important.

“It’s against a good level of opponent, one we’re ready for.

“One, if you’d asked me four years ago were we quite ready, I’m not sure.

“Now I feel differently about that, and that’s because we’ve got evidence over a long  period of results.

“Now we’ve got go and nail this type of game.”
