England fans convinced Phil Foden scored ‘greatest goal of all time’ before last-gasp Denzel Dumfries clearance

NETHERLANDS defender Denzel Dumfries denied Phil Foden a wondergoal during tonight’s Euro 2024 semi-final.

With just over 20 minutes played, Foden worked his way into the box and skipped past three defenders before going for goal from a tight angle.

The ball slipped through the legs of Bart Verbruggen and looked to be going in, but Dumfries stopped it on the goal-line.

Fans were left utterly stunned by the incredible block, with one person taking to social media to write: “That would have been the greatest goal of all time from Foden btw.”

Another commented: “Foden got to be the most unlucky player I’ve ever seen HOW IS THAT NOT A GOAL.”

A third said: “That looked like a goal by Foden lol.”

While a fourth added: “lmfao even God doesn’t want Foden to get a goal .”

Netherlands took an early lead in the seventh minute following a fantastic strike from distance.

However, Harry Kane equalised from the penalty spot shortly after.

England were awarded a controversial penalty after Dumfries caught Kane with his studs after a shot.

Referee Felix Zwayer initially dismissed the claims, but changed his mind following a VAR check.

Kane then fired the ball into the bottom-left corner, levelling the score at 1-1.
