Elder Statesman Reacts Days After INEC Declared Tinubu President-Elect

An elder statesman and former Secretary General of Barewa Old Boys Association (BOBA), Alhaji Shehu Mohammed Kaikai, has reacted to Bola Tinubu‘s victory at the February 25th presidential election.

It’s three weeks since the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared the former Governor of Lagos State as president-elect after polling higher votes than his opponents in the fiercely contested election.

In a letter he personally signed, Kaikai said Tinubu is the best president elected in the Nigerian electoral system. The elder statesman commended INEC and supporters of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for a job well-done before, during and after the election.

Kaikai said Tinubu triumphed despite many challenges from people who are just envious of the testimony of his resilience, doggedness and acceptability by all Nigerians.

“I wish to express my happiness for Your Excellency’s (YE) being the best president elected in the Nigerian electoral system and in spite of so many challenges from people who are just envious of his work and who has made good friends across the nation and has been able to maintain the good friendship and the good work that has been done as a two-term governor of Lagos State.

“My happiness is because of the work done by your supporters and INEC. I pray that Allah will guide and protect you in all whatever you do and wherever it may be,” Kaikai noted in the letter obtained by Daily Trust.

The elder statesman, who is reportedly in Cairo, Egypt presently for medicals added: “I will visit you to congratulate YE personally.”
