Eagle-eyed fans spot Man City kitman helping Ederson avoid red card in Nottingham Forest victory

OBSERVANT fans spotted Manchester City’s cult hero kitman rescuing Ederson from a possible red card.

Off-field icon Brandon Ashton produced a brilliant save himself when he raced over to have a word with the City keeper during Saturday’s fiery 2-0 home win over Nottingham Forest.

Supporters labelled Ashton an “essential part” of the club and a “f***ing legend” for intervening to help the Brazilian.

He was behind the goal when he noticed Ederson dawdling as he carried the ball forward in his hands.

Ashton cupped his hands to remind the stopper he had already been booked.

Ederson had picked up his yellow card just before the hour as 10-man City battled to hold onto their 2-0 lead.

Forest striker Taiwo Awoniyi clattered into him and both went into the book as they clashed angrily.

City had been cruising through early goals from Phil Foden and Erling Haaland.

But Rodri saw red just 27 seconds into the second half for violent conduct.

The midfielder put his hands around Morgan Gibbs-White’s throat.

And with Ederson on edge after that, he might be thankful for Ashton’s intervention.

The kitman is already famous with fans for his celebrations amid City’s Trebel glory last season.

He was filmed doing a tummy-slide in his underpants in the dressing room.

And Ashton did a victory on the bus during the team’s victory parade as he puffed on a cigar.

And after he had a word with Ederson fans are even more in awe of him.

One said: “Thank you…..players must’ve been drinking madness juice at half-time.”

Another posted: “Every part of the team is working together

And a third joked: “When you work with Pep you must play multiple roles. A man like Brandon is also part-time coaching staff.”
