COVID-19: Ebonyi PUBLIC ANNOUNCEMENT
1. The Governor of Ebony State, Engr. David Nweze Umahi is highly concerned about the COVID-19 pandemic increase in Nigeria with attendant deaths.
2. The Governor has directed that the following measures be rolled out to protect Ebonyians.
a. Fumigation of all public premises like Government Houses, EXCO
Chambers, Judiciary premises, Centenary Secretariate, Security
Agencies Quarters, Legislative premises and Markets will commence
from Wednesday, 13 January 2021.
b. All the above named places shall remain closed from the above date
for three (3) days except markets which will be fumigated on the 15
and 17 of January 2021.
c. The Government has increased our testing capacity and we appeal
to anyone who has any sign of COVID-19 or Malaria to report to FETHA-II or Onicha General Hospital for testing.
d. Effective from the 21st January 2021, burials and public gathering except Markets and Religious Centers shall be limited to not more than 50 people, face masks MUST be worn and COVID-19 protocol
maintained.
e. We plead to our Religious leaders to limit hours of service to not more than two (2) hours, wear Face Masks and observe COVID-19
protocols.
f. Our testing and treatment for COVID-19 remains free.
g. It is an offence for any private hospital in Ebonyi State to test any suspected patient for COVID-19 or treat COVID-19 patients as the
Government has enough facilities to offer such services to her citizens free of charge.
