Conor McGregor teases IMMINENT fight announcement as UFC 300 fan theory over Michael Chandler fight emerges

CONOR MCGREGOR has seemingly hinted that his long-awaited comeback could be announced in a matter of hours.

The former two-division champion has been matched up against fellow fan favourite Michael Chandler for well over a year.

McGregor, however, has seemingly teased an imminent date announcement

Their eagerly-anticipated dust-up was expected to take place late last year but is now seemingly on course to go down in the summer.

MMA fans have been patiently awaiting the announcement of bout, with some believing it could take place after the UFC 300 pre-fight press conference on Thursday.

And The Notorious has added more fuel to the raging fire with his social media activity.

Earlier this week, the Irishman shared a video of the closing moments of UFC’s 2018 seasonal press conference to his Instagram.

The end of the presser, of course, saw UFC president and CEO Dana White announce McGregor’s grudge match with Khabib Nurmagomedov.

A fan caption written across the video read: “I could see the UFC 300 press conference ending like this.”

MMA fans were quick to comment on his post, with one saying: “The GOAT is back.”

Another said: “THE MAC IS BACK BBY.”

And another said: “He’s back, baby.”

One remarked: “Let’s f***ing go!”

Another chimed in: “Would be crazy if they announce McGregor vs Chandler on UFC 300.”

McGregor, the UFC’s first simultaneous two-weight world champion, hasn’t set foot inside the octagon in nearly three years.

The Irishman shattered his left leg in the first round of his UFC 264 trilogy fight with long-time rival Dustin Poirier.

McGregor, 35, underwent a brutal and extensive rehab to get himself fighting fit again and has been champing at the bit to get back inside the cage.

And he plans to get back to winning ways with a brutal head kick with his once-injured left leg.

McGregor told the UFC’s YouTube channel: “I’m going to kick this guy in the head.

“He’s just tailor-made for being kicked all over the place.

“And that’s what I’m aiming for, I’m aiming to wrap this steel bar around the opponent.

“And you’ll see a visual of the leg hanging off, and then you’re going to see a visual of a head hanging off.”
