Confusion As Policeman Kills LAUTECH Student, Injures Others
There was pandemonium on Monday at the Ladoke Akintola University Of Technology (LAUTECH) in Ogbomoso, Oyo State, after a police officer allegedly gunned down a student and injured two others.
It was gathered that the unfortunate incident occurred when the police officer, who is yet to be identified, was invited to settle a misunderstanding between two people in the school.
While attempting to settle the matter, the officer reportedly shot sporadically into the air and, in the process, gunned down one student and injured two others.
The incident triggered a riot in the school as students locked the school gates in protest, demanding justice for the deceased.
UNIPORT Reacts To Video Of Lecturer Sexually Harassing Female Student
The management of the University of Port Harcourt, Rivers State, has dismissed a viral video of an alleged lecturer of the institution sexually harassing a female student.
Naija News reports that some people claimed the incident happened in one of the offices of UNIPORT’s Microbiology Department.
However, the Public Relations Officer of UNIPORT, Sam Kpenu, in a statement on Monday evening, disclosed that the incident is purely a case of misrepresentation as its faculty of Microbiology, Department of Microbiology, is upstairs.
He further revealed that Rivers State University TV released the video as such an incident did not happen at the University of Port-Harcourt.
