Communique Arising From A Meeting Of Massob Organization With The South East Governors, Natonal Assembly Members

Communique Arising From A Meeting Of Massob Organization With The South East Governors, Natonal Assembly Members, Hon. Ministers, South East Clergy, Leadership Of Traditional Rulers, Igbo Leaders And Women Leaders Held On Friday, The 30th Day Of October, 2020, At The Executive Council Chambers, Lion Building, Government House, Enugu.

Demands:

1. We demand that South East be given the opportunity to be the President of Nigeria in 2023;

2. Disarming of killer herdsmen with AK47 in the South East, who have occupied our forests and farmlands, destroying

Our farmlands, kidnapping, killing and raping our women, while we pledge to continue to live and work peacefully with our brothers and sisters of our herdsmen who have been living peacefully with us;

3. Creation of one State in the South East to be like other Regions in Nigeria;

4. South East Governors to determine locations where road blocks are necessary in the South East, especially in

emergency situations, with a view to addressing the

complaints of our people on many road blocks and

extortion in South East;

5. There is serious discrimination and marginalization of South East Federal Civil Servants. We want the Federal

Government to look into this;

6. Each State must set up Youth rehabilitation and empowerment fund to address youth unemployment in South East;

7. South East should set up Monitoring Committee in each State, made up of youths, Igbo leaders, Clergy, Traditional Rulers, Governors representatives and women to monitor compensation and empowerment funds in the South East to be set up by Governors and Federal Government of

Nigeria;

8. The lgbo Youths and MASSOB, note with sadness that lgbo land is being discriminated against in the allocation of Federal infrastructural projects. We note specifically that all the major Federal Roads in lgbo land are in terrible state of disrepair. We, therefore, demand that the Federal Government should immediately approve a substantial intervention fund to complete all these major road projects in the South East;

9. We also demand that substantial allocations be made for major infrastructural projects in the 2021 Budget currently before the National Assembly;

10. President General of Ohaneze Ndigbo to lead South East youths representatives and select lgbo Leaders to the presidency to make our demands to Mr President.
