Chris Kamara paid tribute to his close pal Jeff Stelling

Stelling was honoured on his final Soccer Saturday appearance

Sky Sports honoured him with a video montage of his best bits while several former colleagues sent in messages of well wishes.

Kamara has shared many iconic moments with Stelling on-screen and he told his pal how much he loved him.

Kammy said on Sky Sports: “Simply the best broadcaster ever! I love you like a brother. The only last thing to say is – you are unbelievable Jeff!”

The short video message was a rare TV appearance for Kamara following his diagnosis of apraxia.

The speech condition led the former player to quit his reporting role on Soccer Saturday.

It also forced Kammy to withdraw from hosting UK’s Strongest Man this week.

He said: “Due to my ongoing speech problems I have reluctantly pulled out of presenting this year’s UK’s Strongest Man.

“The show will be In Nottingham this weekend. If you fancy? Please go along – it’s spectacular.”

Kamara is battling apraxia of speech, which has made talking difficult, slower and sometimes slurred.

Thex-year-old also shared a message for Stelling on social media, tweeting: “What a fantastic tribute on the show for unbelievable Jeff Stelling.

“Thanks for all the magnificent memories x”
