Abdo, who is also a Man Utd fan, used to spend time travelling to Old Trafford to watch the Red Devils with her dad, Tom Giles, who she revealed had passed away in December.

Meola, 55, had said how he was “the biggest fan” of his kids in sport and how coaching his daughter was “one of the coolest parenting experiences I had,” despite his initial reservations.

The story struck a heartstring with Abdo, with the 42-year-old saying: “That’s why that made me emotional [thinking about my dad].

“I just lost my dad in December. The time I spent with him in sports was everything to me.

“So, hearing how much that meant to you was special. We all know that sports teaches you character.

“So much of what is special about sports is that it teaches you determination, commitment, durability because of the fact you have to stick with things.

“What I enjoy about who my dad was, was the example he was to me. The good character I saw in him. Also, the fun we had in those moments.

“I am divorced. I got married a while ago and when he gave the speech at my wedding.

“One of the things he said to me was you will look back at some point in your life and you will never wish you spent more time at work.

“You will always value family in those moments that you had. So, yeah. It’s just dope to hear what it means to another father.”

Abdo also previously revealed how her mother was a Liverpool fan.

Her dad previously made an appearance on the show as a special guest alongside Peter Schmeichel in 2023.

Abdo referenced her previous marriage to Ramtin Abdolmajid.

The pair got married in 2010, with Abdo’s dad making a speech at the wedding, but are now divorced.

Abdo is now in a public relationship with Deontay Wilder’s trainer Malik Scott.
