Cambridgeshire handicap runner-by-runner guide

ASTRO KING

KING sting. In fine form at York and won over 1m2f on fast ground latest. Handles a big field and place claims from 5lb higher.

SAGA

GA may star. Not won since 2yo but went close over course and distance in May and Ryan Moore on board takes the eye.

TYRRHENIAN SEA

ALL at Sea. Only won on AW and has questions to answer after poor effort at Kempton latest.

MAJOR PARTNERSHIP

MAJOR worry. Solid form over a mile and likes fast ground but poor at Ascot latest and must raise game.

BOPEDRO

BO for it. Won over a mile here last month and fair run in Ireland latest. Fair weight and hike in trip should help.

HAUNTED DREAM

DREAM on. Consistent around this trip and just behind Astro King at York. Going up weights so will need a bit more.

EPIC POET

EPIC fail. Listed winner in France but been poor on both starts in UK and hard to fancy.

EAGLE’S WAY

WAY to go. Won plenty at lower level and good run from bad draw at Sandown. One of better outsiders.

KILLYBEGS WARRIOR

IN for Kill. Solid fourth at The Curragh and won here in July. Yard in fair form so can’t be ignored.

OVIEDO

OV course. Went close in good company at York latest and this trip on fast ground suits. Rise of 2lb looks fair and he’s capable of better. Player despite modest draw.

AKHU NAJLA

AK attack. Lightly-raced but not firing this season and well held at York last time. Needs a lot more.

LIBERTY LANE

LANE to reign. Impressive win at Donny last time over a mile and this trip will suit. Has just a 4lb penalty for that with more to offer. Big chance.

EILEAN DUBH

DUBH not. Bits of form on fast ground but looked high enough in weights at York latest.

PARADIAS

PARA trooper. Solid form over a bit further and went close at York last time. Handles quick ground and on fair mark. Not out of it.

DUAL IDENTITY

DUAL forecast. Third in this last year off this mark and back to best at Sandown latest. Handles any ground and could hit the frame again.

STAY WELL

STAY away. Not won for a while but decent run at Sandown off this mark latest. Drop in distance may not suit.

DUTCH DECOY

GO Dutch. Has a fine course record and won here in July off 3lb lower. Likes a big field and trip suits so looks a big price.

GRAIGNES

NES less. Consistent at lower levels and good effort at Southwell latest. This is much tougher.

MERLIN THE WIZARD

MERLIN the hunt. Game win on fast ground here latest. Up 8lb for that but has scope to improve and high on shortlist.

STORM CATCHER

STORM warning. Solid all-weather performer but needs more in this company on turf.

TERWADA

BIG Wad. Two good wins before traffic issues at York latest. Looks on fair weight and capable of better. Not out of it.

ARQOOB

ARQ sunk. Fair third at Yarmouth last time but needs more at this level.

GREEK ORDER

ALL in Order. Been well backed since his easy Newbury win. Up 10lb for that but is improving and this trip will suit. Big field will help him settle. Major player.

THUNDER BALL

BALL burst. Disqualified after winning at Goodwood last time and needs more off career-high mark.

MAJESTIC

STIC with him. Won this last year and only 3lb higher today. Fair effort at Chepstow latest and can figure again from a good draw.

BLUELIGHT BAY

FEELING Blue. Running well without winning and has crept a little high up the weights.

FAYLAQ

LAQ-ing. Held in lesser races and wants further.

THUNDERING

THUNDER stormy. Good win at Ayr latest but this is tougher and he likes soft ground.

CAROLUS MAGNUS

CAR rusty. Showing little on the AW and should be outclassed.

GEREMIA

GER out. Only 1lb above last win but doesn’t look up to this level.

ZOZIMUS

ZO for it. Back to form when close second at Haydock. Likes this trip and fast ground so can’t be dismissed.

SAYF AL DAWLA

AL pass. Best over a bit further on soft ground and this looks too tough.

CRACK SHOT

WORTH a Shot. Improved to score at Newbury and this trip and ground should suit. Place player with more to come.

WILDFELL

WILD tamed. Solid form at lower levels but now 20lb higher than last win so must improve.

BOTAS

BOT-tom. All-weather winner has been held in lesser races than this lately.

Templegate’s tip

LIBERTY LANE looks streets ahead in the Cambridgeshire (3.40 Newmarket).

Karl Burke’s hope looked a Group-class horse when winning at Doncaster last time and will relish this big-field test from a decent draw.

Greek Order has been backed off the boards since his Newbury win and could be a handicap snip.

Last year’s winner Majestic is only 3lb higher so is respected along with Dual Identity, Merlin The Wizard and Crack Shot.
