Man City vs Man Utd betting tips
Cup final season continues on Saturday, and this one’s a biggie.
Arch-rivals Manchester City and Manchester United clash in the FA Cup final at Wembley. For Pep Guardiola’s side, it’s all about continuing their relentless march towards an historic treble.
For United, it’s about stopping that from happening… Oh, and winning the double – but that’s clearly of less importance to supporters.
Only one English side has ever landed the Premier League title, FA Cup and European Cup in the same campaign. That team? Sir Alex Ferguson’s Manchester United in 1999, and they would dearly like to keep that record to themselves.
The Citizens head into Saturday’s contest as odds-on 1/2 favourites, while Erik ten Hag’s side are a colossal 5/1 to win inside 90 minutes.
Those prices were perhaps more justified a few weeks ago shortly after United’s successive 1-0 defeats to Brighton and West Ham. However, they finished the season strongly with four wins on the bounce.
As for City, it’s been rather stop-start and plenty of team changes since they were crowned champions. They’ve lost a bit of momentum and saw their 25-match unbeaten run ended against Brentford on the final day.
Few goals…
It’s the 189th meeting between these rivals but it’s their first-ever clash in a major cup final.
The pair have played out their fair share of thrillers in recent times, scoring a combined 17 goals in their last three head-to-head meetings.
But FA Cup finals simply don’t go that way. In fact, 16 of the last 18 have been decided by a one-goal margin or a penalty shootout. Furthermore, 16 of the last 25 FA Cup finals have yielded a maximum of two goals.
It could well be another cautious affair with so much at stake, and the fact that it has been eight matches since Manchester United conceded 2+ goals in a match.
Our tip: Under 2.5 goals at 5/4 with William Hill

And the winner is…
It’s by no means a wild selection, but Manchester City have been scintillating this season – especially in knockout competitions.
The Citizens have absolutely destroyed RB Leipzig, Bayern Munich and Real Madrid in the Champions League, and secured easy wins in crunch matches against Arsenal.
Pep Guardiola’s side have proven that they are more than capable of handling the big occasion, while United failed to beat any of the Premier League’s top nine away from Old Trafford.
Our tip: Manchester City to win 2-0 at odds of 7/1 with William Hill
Gun Dog
You don’t need me to tell you that this contest could get messy. The bitter rivals are primed for a battle and that could result in a fair few bookings.
One player of interest at a big price is Manchester City midfielder Ilkay Gundogan, who’s picked up five bookings this season.
Interestingly enough, all five of those have come in knockout competitions with four in the Champions League and one in the FA Cup.
Gundogan, 32, has two yellows against Manchester United and has already been booked by Saturday’s referee Paul Tierney earlier this season.
Our tip: Ilkay Gundogan to be booked at 6/1 with William Hill
