BBC presenter and snooker MC slammed for ‘getting personal’ during intro after fans spot Jak Jones’ react during final

JAK JONES was left shaking his head after snooker presenter Rob Walker introduced him by claiming he was “under pressure”.

The Welsh qualifier, 30, has enjoyed a fairytale run to the World Championship final despite having shown little form this season.

Fans on social media were unimpressed by Walker’s remarkGetty

He has beaten world champions Judd Trump and Stuart Bingham on his way to the Crucible final, but struggled during the opening session against Kyren Wilson.

Jones trailed 7-1 heading into the second session on Sunday evening after a dismal afternoon.

And BBC’s Walker, 49, welcomed him back into the arena by saying: “He’s under pressure tonight.”

The comment was met by a puzzled look from Jones as he shook his head in disagreement.

And snooker fans on social media were quick to condemn Walker for the remark.

One said: “Feel like Rob quite often says things the players would rather not hear .”

Another added: “He loves to get personal .”

A third replied: “I thought Rob was out of order saying that, totally needless thing to say.”

And a fourth responded: “Bit rude that was.”

Despite the criticism, Walker remains one of the most-loved characters in snooker.

Earlier in the tournament, he was praised for a heartwarming moment with Mark Selby when he hugged the four-time world champion during an interview following his loss to Joe O’Connor.
