Atiku: Nnamdi Kanu’s Brother, Kanuta Reveals Why Wike Lost PDP Presidential Primary

Kanunta, a brother of the embattled leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, has described Governor Nyesom Wike’s loss at the just concluded Peoples Democratic Party presidential primary election as ‘karma”.

Naija News had reported that former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar emerged as the PDP presidential candidate for the 2023 general elections on Saturday.

There were assertions that Wike had lost the party’s ticket to Atiku because he was betrayed by Sokoto State Governor Aminu Tambuwal.

Recall that Tambuwal announced his withdrawal from the presidential primaries yesterday at the party’s national convention in Abuja. A development that raised many eyebrows seeing that his decision was coming moments after the convention had already commenced.

Reacting, however, to Wike’s defeat, Kanuta in a social media post on Sunday alleged that the IPOB and those killed during the massacre of Obigbo were responsible for the Rivers State Governor’s loss at the PDP primaries.

Kanunta dismissed claims that Tambuwal was responsible for Wike’s defeat. According to Kanunta: “Neither the North, nor Tambuwal betrayed #Wike. Nor was it any Southern disunity.

“It was KARMA that nailed him. The Karma of #Obigbo. The #IPOB was also a factor.

“Clue: Late Buhari won despite his open support for BokoHaram.”

Meanwhile, the apex Igbo socio-political organization, Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, has described the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP presidential primaries that produced former Vice President Atiku Abubakar as its 2023 presidential candidate as corrupt and erratic.

Naija News reports that Atiku defeated the likes of former Senate President, Bukola Saraki, Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike and other aspirants at the PDP primaries held in Abuja yesterday.

Reacting, however, to Atiku’s victory, Ohanaeze in a statement made available to newsmen on Sunday morning through its Secretary-General, Mazi Okechukwu Isiguzoro, said the PDP presidential candidate will never become Nigeria’s president.

Ohanaeze rejected Atiku’s candidacy, alleging that his emergence as PDP’s candidate was a plot by unpatriotic Northerners against the Southern part of the country.

Isiguzoro stressed in the statement that the Igbo would rise up against Atiku, adding that his presidential campaign would be rejected in the South-East.

According to him, the nation’s main opposition party had been reduced to a Northern party.
