APC Convention: Five Aspirants Purchase Chairmanship Forms

Five aspirants have purchased the chairmanship expression of interest and nomination forms of the All Progressives Congress ahead of the party’s national convention.

The Director of Organisation of the party’s caretaker committee, Al-Mustapha Ussiju, announced the sale of the nomination form in a statement released on Tuesday.

Among those who have purchased the chairmanship form include, Saliu Mustapha, a former governor of Nasarawa, Abdulahi Adamu, a former governor of Nasarawa, Tanko Al-Makura, and Minister of Special Duties and Inter-Governmental Affairs, George Akume.

The former Governor of Zamfara State, Abdulaziz Yari has obtained the chairmanship Expression of Interest and Nomination forms.

There are indications that the former Governor of Borno State, Ali Modu Sheriff may pick up the chairmanship form of the ruling party despite the party zoning the position to the North Central.

New national executives will be elected at the national convention of the party, with about 4,000 delegates expected to be in attendance.

The representative of youths in the caretaker committee of the party, Ismaeel Ahmed, noted that the zoning arrangement of the party is a guide for its members, not a constitutional issue.

According to Ahmed, all issues concerning the national convention of the party will be dealt with before March 26th.

He said, “The zoning arrangement is a guide for members of the party and not a constitutional issue.”
