All Progressives Congress (APC) Showcases 2021 Anambra Gubernatorial Aspirants

Anambra state chapter of All Progressives Congress (APC) over the weekend held a special stakeholders meeting in Awka where all its gubernatorial aspirants were showcased to its stakeholders.

As part of its preparation towards the coming 2021 governorship election, the leadership of the party in Anambra state led by Chief Basil Ejidike called this special session of stakeholders meeting to psyche up members and party leaders to the enormous responsibilities ahead.

The aspirants present and ably represented were

(1) Chief Ben Etiaba (Ifenna Nnewi)

(2) Chief Amobi Nwokafor (Ogbako Agbako Awka)

(3) Chief Azuka Okwuosa

(4) Chief George Moghalu(Ohamadike)

(5) Chief Paul Orajiaka (Kpakpando)

(6) Chief Dozie Nwankwo (Ebubechukwu Uzo Oko)

(7) Chief John Bosco Onunkwo (Akaekpuchionwa)

(8) Sen. Andy Uba

(9) Col. Geoff Onyejekwu(Ide Aniedo III)

It was also a stock taking for the party as it took a critical assessment of its performances in the past elections especially the last 2019 governorship elections and the way forward.

The leader of the party in the state, and Minister of Labour and Productivity, Sen. Dr. Chris Ngige accepted that the party needs this self assessment for it to rediscover itself. It was also a good assessment as the state branch critically analyzed how its relationship with some decisions and policies of the federal government are adversely affecting its fortunes and performance within the state.

The critical importance of unity, funding and healing from the wounds of the past elections in party politics were raised by Hon. Tony Nwoye, Sen. Peter Anosike, Sen. Andy Uba, Nze Chidi Duru, Chief Paul Chukwuma and Chief Nelson Onubogu while the former national zonal youth leader, Chief Olisa Onyeka (ODU) and the state party woman leader, Hon. Calista Nwachukwu reminded members of the party, the importance of youth and women mobilization in party politics especially as the new recruitment drive of the party starts on the 25th of January, 2021.

Chief Onyeka equally urged the aspirants to allow for decorum in languages employed by their social media handlers.
