A presidential aspirant under the ruling All Progressives Congress and Governor of Ekiti State, Kayode Fayemi has called on delegates in Osun State to support the South-West agenda.
The Chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum further stated that all presidential aspirants from the South-West are qualified to talk over in 2023.
Fayemi stated this while addressing delegates of the party in Osogbo, the state capital.
According to Fayemi, wherever would stop the region from winning the 2023 presidential election must be firmly resisted.
Fayemi said, “For me, the victory of South-West means that we are all victorious because there is no aspirant from the zone who is not eminently qualified. Our values have remained constant and we are leaders in the progressive movement.”
The Ekiti State Governor on Wednesday expressed readiness to support his counterpart in Osun State, Gboyega Oyetola ahead of the 2022 governorship elections in the state.
He, however, lauded Oyetola’s rich understanding of governance and progressive ideologies.
Fayemi will be hoping to clinch the presidential ticket of the APC ahead of the national leader of the party, Bola Tinubu, the Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo, the former Governor of Ogun State, Ibikunle Amosun and others in the May 29th primary.
