2023: Peter Obi Speaks On PDP Zoning Presidential Ticket

A former Vice Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party in the 2019 general election, Peter Obi has disclosed that it would be the decision of the main opposition party to decide the zone to produce the presidential candidate of the party in the 2023 election.

The former Governor of Anambra State further stated that the PDP is considering critical factors such as competence, equity and fairness.

Obi disclosed this while speaking with newsmen in Minna, Niger State, in continuation of his presidential consultation across the country.

He further stated that the decision of the party on zoning will be in the interest of all members of the party.

According to Obi, the decision of the main opposition party on the matter of zoning would be binding on all, since the party is supreme.

Obi condemned the spike in security issues in the country which has seen some pupils not going to school and farmers not being able to access their farms.

The former Governor while addressing the Niger State delegates at the party secretariat, earlier noted that his visit was a mark of respect to the members and not to declare his presidential ambition yet.

Obi said all presidential aspirants in the party should be given a level playing ground and equal opportunity to present their case.

He called on members of the party to remember that Nigeria is more important than every individual interest.

Obi urged Nigerians to do due diligence on the background and antecedents of those seeking their votes in 2023.
