2023: Kperogi Blasts Tinubu, Warns Him On What To Expect At The APC Presidential Primaries

Popular Nigerian columnist, Farooq Kperogi has called out the National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), and 2023 presidential aspirant, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu over the outcome of the Lagos APC governorship primaries.

Kperogi in a post on his Facebook account, accused Tinubu of masterminding how other aspirants in the Lagos APC governorship race were prevented from participating in the primaries, giving Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu a clear run at the ticket.

Naija News had reported how one of the governorship aspirants in Lagos State on the platform of the All Progressives Congress, Abdul-Ahmed Mustapha was not granted access to the venue of the primary election.

Mustapha narrated that he was told at the entrance that he wasn’t cleared for the exercise hence could not be given an accreditation tag to allow him into the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, formerly known as Onikan Stadium, venue of the APC exercise.

The development paved the way for Sanwo-Olu on Thursday to grab the gubernatorial ticket of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to seek reelection as the Lagos State Governor.

The chairman of the five-man electoral committee, Adamu Yuguda was later to explain that of the three aspirants who purchased the APC governorship forms for Lagos State, only Sanwo-Olu was cleared to participate in the exercise.

Mr Yuguda said: “We are aware that three aspirants bought forms for Lagos state. Three accredited for the screening. One was cleared, two were not cleared. So, we are only attending to those that have been cleared, the aspirant that has been cleared by the two committees,” he declared.

Reacting to the entire episode, Kperogi said Tinubu should expect a payback from Karma in Abuja during the APC presidential primaries.

He said Tinubu would not get a fair presidential primaries just as he allegedly prevented a fair governorship primaries in Lagos.

Tinubu endorsed a disgraceful coronation of his handpicked stooge in the Lagos governorship primary “election” and shut out 2 other contestants who paid nomination fees. But he wants a fair contest for his presidential ambition in Abuja and chafes at consensus. Karma is waiting for him in Abuja this weekend!,” Kperogi said.
