2023: Ezekwesili Sends ‘Heartbreaking’ Message To Tinubu Over Presidential Ambition

Nigeria’s former Minister of Education, Oby Ezekwesili has sent a ‘heartbreaking’ message to a former governor of Lagos State, Bola Tinubu over his intention to join the 2023 presidential race.

Naija News reports that the All Progressive Congress, APC National Leader on Monday confirmed he has informed President Muhammadu Buhari of his presidential ambition.

Tinubu stated that his ambition to be President of Nigeria has been a life-long ambition, noting that what he did in Lagos in his time as Governor, he has the capacity to do in the entire country.

However, in a post on her verified Twitter page on Wednesday (today), Ezekwesili said that democracy will prevail come 2023.

The former Presidential candidate of the Allied Congress Party of Nigeria warned Tinubu and other politicians declaring interest to run for the presidency in 2023 that money will fail them this time.

Ezekwesili said the era of ‘turn by turn’ election of incompetent leaders in Nigeria has come to an end.

She stressed that Nigerians have had enough of failure because of poor leadership, adding that citizens would this time prove to the likes of Tinubu that the era of accepting incompetent leaders has come to an end.

Ezekwesili tweeted: “I watched one of those so-called “public analysts” boast that “ Bola Tinubu has consulted the President. It is a given that Bola Tinubu will be the next President of Nigeria.

“In a democracy oh, it is not your fault. Money will fail in the 2023 elections, mark my words.

“It is citizens that have the power to collectively tell the likes of Mr Bola Tinubu that the season of lowest common denominator of political leaders doing “turn-by-turn” incompetent governance of Nigeria is over.

“The question is, ‘are citizens ready to collectively do so?’ A country like Nigeria cannot keep digging deeper into the labyrinth of failure because of a low degree of public leadership.

“The 21st Century is racing fast to an end. Just look at where our continent lies prostrate at the feet of bad governance.”
