2023: Ex-presidential Aspirant Defects To Labour Party In Lagos

A former Presidential aspirant, Ebaye Ntan, joined Labour Party (LP) in Lagos State, on Thursday.

Naija News understands that the politician participated in the 2019 presidential race under the platform of the National Conscience Party, NCP.

Receiving Ntan and his followers yesterday at the party’s meeting in Lagos, the State Chairman of LP, Prince Ifagbemi Awamaridi, said that only the LP could salvage Nigeria from its overwhelming challenges.

Awamaridi noted that the LP would be among the few political parties on the ballot in the 2023 general elections, adding that the party would conduct valid primaries to select its flag-bearers.

He said: “Our comrade from the National Conscience Party (NCP), Comrade Ebaye Ntan, was the presidential aspirant for NCP in 2019, contested with Dr Yinusa Tanko, the Chairman of NCP, and lost by a very slim margin.

“He is now coming with all his people to join the Labour Party. He is joining the Labour Party officially at Eti-Osa Local Government.

“We congratulate you and welcome you into the Labour Party,” Awamaridi said.

Meanwhile, the Minister of Transportation and Presidential hopeful of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi has urged party members in Lagos State to support his presidential aspiration over that of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

The presidential aspirant spoke during a courtesy call on the governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu at Government House, Marina Lagos on Thursday, Naija News reports.

The former Rivers State governor asked APC members in the state to vote for him in the party’s primary slated for May.

Amaechi who stressed the need for APC to present a sellable candidate in the 2023 presidential elections, said he represents the ideal candidate first as the youngest with much energy and a public service record that towered him above other contenders.
