2023: Ekweremadu Reportedly Set To Join APC After Meeting Adamu, Uzodinma

Former Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu is reportedly set to dump the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the All Progressives Congress (APC).

This development comes after Ekweremadu met with the APC National Chairman, Abdullahi Adamu and Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo State.

Naija News reports that the meeting between the trio was held on Monday at the APC National Secretariat in Abuja, the nation’s capital.

It was gathered that the meeting between the trio may be connected to the alleged plan by Ekweremadu to defect to the APC and contest the Enugu governorship race under the party.

Ekweremadu, who had withdrawn from the governorship race on the platform of the PDP, also denied joining the Labour Party.

Recall that the Enugu State Chairman of the APC, Ugochukwu Agballa, rejected pleas by Ekweremadu to pick the governorship ticket of the party.

Agballa accused the former Senate leader of asking the party to give him its ticket despite the emergence of Uche Nnaji as its gubernatorial candidate.

While describing the demand by the lawmaker as evil, he said Ekweremadu was mounting pressure on the APC to grab its ticket.

According to him, the former Deputy Senate President is blinded by his ambition, promising to treat Ekweremadu like a mad man if he joins the APC.
