2023: Dogara Gets Fresh Appointment From PDP After Declaring Support For Atiku

A former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara has been appointed as a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential campaign council (PCC).

The appointment was announced on Sunday by the director general of the PDP PCC and Governor of Sokoto State, Aminu Tambuwal.

The fresh appointment comes on the heels of the decision by Dogara to declare support for the PDP presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar.

Naija News recalls Dogara, and other Northern Christian leaders in his camp who rejected the Muslim-Muslim ticket of the All Progressives Congress (APC) have revealed the candidate they’ll support for the 2023 presidential election.

The leaders under the aegis of the Northern Leaders Consultative Forum, declared support for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Atiku Abubakar.

They revealed their decision on Friday at a media conference in Abuja.

Though Dogara is a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), he openly rejected the decision of his party to field a Muslim Muslim ticket of Asiwaju Bola Tinubu and Senator Kashim Shettima.

The development informed his decision to dump Tinubu and pitch his tent with Atiku.

It however remains unclear if the former Speaker has now defected to the PDP following the appointment into the party’s presidential campaign council.
